On 16 December 2025 at the Elia Ermou Athens Hotel (Ermou 15–17), the 3rd Greek Blue TRAIN Lab Meeting will showcase and accelerate Greece’s emerging innovations related to the protection and restoration of marine and freshwater ecosystems, as well as the transition to a sustainable Blue Economy. The event is organised through the collaboration of the BLUE ECOSYSTEM and BLUEMISSIONMED programmes and will be hosted by the Institute of Oceanography – Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR) and the Institute for Sustainable Development – European Public Law Organization (EPLO), with technical support from VERIMPACT.
Thematic discussions will be conducted based on the national challenges identified by the Greek Blue TRAIN Lab across the areas of bioeconomy, environment, digital transformation, public health, energy, and social innovation and match them with tools, actions and funding opportunities. The seventeen solutions collected through the BLUE ECOSYSTEM open call—following targeted consultations and a series of online matchmaking sessions—will be presented, enabling innovators to build strategic alliances at national level and contribute to the implementation of the EU Mission “Restore Our Ocean and Waters.”
The meeting provides a collaborative platform for industry, academia, public authorities, civil society, and environmental organisations to strengthen Greece’s pathways toward a more resilient and sustainable Blue Economy.
