This role blends statistical analysis, machine learning, and explainable AI to generate actionable insights for environmental and social performance improvement.
Requirements:
- 2–4 years experience in data science, statistics, or econometrics

Position Overview
We seek a highly skilled Platform Lead Engineer to oversee a new software platform’s design, development, and project management. The position entails overseeing the entire lifecycle of a software platform, from conceptualization and design to delivery and ongoing operations.
The role requires a focus on strategic management, ensuring the platform is secure, scalable, and optimized for performance while integrating advanced analytics like Bayesian networks for data-driven insights. The individual will also collaborate with stakeholders across the company, including IT staff and executives, to ensure the platform’s practical use and guide its long-term evolution. This high-level role involves directing the platform’s technical and operational aspects, fostering continuous improvement and alignment with business goals.
The ideal candidate will have experience in cloud deployments, platform architecture, iterative project management, and strong Python programming skills. A background in causal analysis, such as Bayesian networks, is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of a new software platform from concept through delivery.
- Oversee project management using iterative methodologies to ensure timely and efficient completion.
- Collaborate with and manage contractors to deliver an initial platform that is:
- Deployed to the cloud with attention to security and scalability and optimized for performance.
- Has integrated database designs that support platform scalability.
- Utilizes causal analysis techniques, including Bayesian networks, to support data-driven decision-making.
- Has a user-friendly UI/UX, including data and probability visualizations
- Post-delivery of the initial platform:
- Ensure seamless daily operation of the platform after final delivery and successful testing.
- Oversee the platform user documentation and training materials so IT staff and key stakeholders (e.g., ESG staff and C-Suite executives) can use the platform effectively.
- Collaborate with the company’s management to specify the platform’s further development and future releases.
- Coordinate with vendors and/or Verimpact staff to deliver future releases
Qualifications
- Proven track record of managing complex software projects in iterative environments.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills for cross-functional team collaboration.
- Extensive experience in cloud deployments, security, and database design.
- Proficiency in performance tuning and parallelization.
- Strong Python skills.
- Experience in data management and visualization

This role is vital in supporting our clients by delivering guidance on sustainability reporting, strategy development, and ESG risk assessment. The successful candidate will join our team to support our ongoing and future projects, helping our clients achieve their sustainability goals and ensure compliance with relevant frameworks and standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Client ESG Reporting Support:
- Assist clients in developing and implementing ESG reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SBTi, ESRS, SASB, IFRS, GRESB and CDP).
- Collaborate with client departments to collect relevant data and prepare annual ESG reports. Collect, consolidate, and analyse sustainability-related data.
- Sustainability Strategy Development:
- Support clients in developing and implementing impactful sustainability strategies. Work closely with clients to integrate ESG considerations into their practices and decision-making.
- Help clients identify key sustainability topics, metrics and KPIs, in accordance with their reporting requirements and needs.
- Support clients in goal setting, progress tracking and provide them with recommendations towards continuous positive impact creation.
- Climate Change Risk Assessment and Transition Planning:
- Contribute to identifying and analysing climate-related risks & opportunities.
- Help clients develop climate effective transition plans and decarbonization strategies.
- Stakeholder Engagement Assistance:
- Assist clients in engaging with their stakeholders, including investors, regulators, and customers, to communicate their sustainability efforts and goal-setting.
- Prepare presentations, reports, and communication material to effectively convey ESG performance and strategy to client stakeholders.
- Regulatory Compliance Advisory:
- Stay updated and inform clients on Sustainability and ESG regulations, reporting frameworks and standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Sustainability, Engineering, Business management, or a related field (a Master’s degree is a plus).
- 1-2 years of experience in Sustainability, ESG consulting, or a related field.
- Good knowledge of sustainability frameworks and standards (GRI, IFRS, SASB, ESRS, SDGs etc.).
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in data analysis.
- Experience with carbon accounting methodologies or tools is a plus (e.g., GHG Protocol, Science-Based Targets).
Soft Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and teamwork skills.
- Proactive and eager to be involved in many different projects.
Work Environment:
- Hybrid Work Model: This role will require a combination of remote and in-office work. The candidate should be comfortable with flexible working arrangements.
