Verimpact at European Ocean Days 2025: Leading Blue Innovation

Brussels, March 10, 2025 – Verimpact played a central role at the European Ocean Days 2025, a week-long key gathering of policymakers, industry leaders, and stakeholders committed to shaping the future of Europe’s blue economy. As a company that started off from creating an ESG decision-making tool for blue economy investors back in 2018, Verimpact’s management team was actively engaged in critical conversations surrounding the EU Ocean Pact, BlueInvest, and Mission Ocean initiatives.

Driving Policy and Investment in the Blue Economy

Verimpact's active participation included some of the most influential conferences during the week:

  • The Mission Ocean and Waters Forum, a pivotal platform for advancing sustainable ocean governance, fostering innovation, and accelerating the implementation of impactful blue economy initiatives across Europe.

  • The European Blue Forum, a flagship gathering that reinforced the necessity of sustainable marine economies and ocean governance. The forum examined both challenges and rising opportunities within the blue economy, providing a comprehensive roadmap for future policy action.

  • BlueInvest: Originally launched in 2018 as a niche initiative, BlueInvest has grown into a powerful ecosystem connecting startups, investors, and industry leaders. This year’s event underscored the increasing market confidence in ocean-driven innovations and sustainable marine solutions.

  • The inaugural EU Ocean Pact event, hosted by Oceano Azul Foundation and Europe Jacques Delors, in collaboration with POLITICO Europe. Verimpact’s Chairman and Mission Ocean Board Member, Spyros Kouvelis, made a significant contribution to the ongoing development of the EU Ocean Pact—a comprehensive legislative framework guiding policy, funding, and impact-driven initiatives. Currently in its consultation phase, the Pact outlines seven strategic pillars, each linked to EU competitiveness and long-term sustainable growth.
