Verimpact, a leading ESG and sustainability services provider, is seeking a junior Sustainability and ESG specialist. This role is vital in supporting our clients by delivering guidance on sustainability reporting, strategy development, and ESG risk assessment. The successful candidate will join our team to support our ongoing and future projects, helping our clients achieve their sustainability goals and ensure compliance with relevant frameworks and standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on meaningful projects that create a positive impact on businesses, people and the planet.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Client ESG Reporting Support:

  • Assist clients in developing and implementing ESG reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SBTi, ESRS, SASB, IFRS, GRESB and CDP).

  • Collaborate with client departments to collect relevant data and prepare annual ESG reports. Collect, consolidate, and analyse sustainability-related data.

2. Sustainability Strategy Development:

  • Support clients in developing and implementing impactful sustainability strategies. Work closely with clients to integrate ESG considerations into their practices and decision-making.

  • Help clients identify key sustainability topics, metrics and KPIs, in accordance with their reporting requirements and needs.

  • Support clients in goal setting, progress tracking and provide them with recommendations towards continuous positive impact creation.

3. Climate Change Risk Assessment and Transition Planning:

  • Contribute to identifying and analysing climate-related risks & opportunities.

  • Help clients develop climate effective transition plans and decarbonization strategies.

4. Stakeholder Engagement Assistance:

  • Assist clients in engaging with their stakeholders, including investors, regulators, and customers, to communicate their sustainability efforts and goal-setting.

  • Prepare presentations, reports, and communication material to effectively convey ESG performance and strategy to client stakeholders.

5. Regulatory Compliance Advisory:

  • Stay updated and inform clients on Sustainability and ESG regulations, reporting frameworks and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Sustainability, Engineering, Business management, or a related field (a Master’s degree is a plus).

  • 1-2 years of experience in Sustainability, ESG consulting, or a related field.

  • Good knowledge of sustainability frameworks and standards (GRI, IFRS, SASB, ESRS, SDGs etc.).

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in data analysis.

  • Experience with carbon accounting methodologies or tools is a plus (e.g., GHG Protocol, Science-Based Targets).

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • High attention to detail and teamwork skills.

  • Proactive and eager to be involved in many different projects.

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid Work Model: This role will require a combination of remote and in-office work. The candidate should be comfortable with flexible working arrangements.

  • Travel: Occasional travel may be required for client meetings, site visits, or conferences.
